my snack buddy.
I’m proud that I can say I took this.
Summer. A word all high schoolers love. Well, most. I do enjoy summer, but it’s bittersweet for me. The beginning of the summer is always so slow, and it seems like it’ll last forever, but you never do anything with it. Then the end comes, and you try to jam all this stuff in because the days speed by. I hate that feeling.
This summer, I’ve done a lot, and I don’t feel that bittersweetness as much.
I went to the beach for the first two weeks of summer. I got to see my sister graduate from the Police Academy, and I’m so proud of her. I know she struggled to make it through mentally, but I had faith in her the whole time. It was great spending time with my family, just the 5 of us. I got up to watch the sunrise the morning we left, and at that moment, everything felt right in the world. I spent the next week working and hanging out with Sam before he left for three weeks. Those three weeks went faster than expected, but still too slow for my liking. I got a lot done, though. I spent a few days at my grandparents house, and did a lot of shopping. It was great to see my grandma for a while. I don’t get to visit her as much as I’d like to. After that I had band, and spent my days working, reading, or with Sam and Ashlea. Bandcamp was the last two weeks, and now I only have a week before school starts!
The worst part about summer is the summer reading. I still have to read a book, and finish all my papers. Sadface.
I’m excited for school to start, but can’t it just wait another week or two?
